If you are a guardian or
conservator, you may be familiar with the following responsibilities:
üTaking possession of the property of your ward
üSafekeeping assets
üFiling an annual inventory with the court
üCollecting income
üBuying, selling and investing assets
üDisbursing income or principal to, or on behalf of, your
ward
üKeeping accurate records
Assuming the responsibility for all of a person’s financial matters is
often too time consuming for an individual and can lead to family
arguments.Our Trust
Department serves as Guardian or Conservator, subject to
court appointment, to act in that capacity.
By naming a neutral party, such as our Trust Department, as guardian or
conservator you can save yourself the trouble and heartache sometimes
caused by appointing family members as guardians.
Benefits to you:
§Provides impartiality to prevent dissension among family
members
§Provides peace of mind for family knowing that a
professional is working in the best interest of the ward
§Ensures that the ward’s financial affairs are properly
cared for (bills are paid, interest is collected and deposited, etc.)
