SNB&T Celebrates Area Scholars

 

 

The Stephenson National Bank & Trust recently awarded scholarships totaling over $11,000 to local high school, college and university students.  The first scholarship is given in memory of the Louis W. Staudenmaier who served as the bank’s president from 1952 through 1980. The second was created by the bank’s Chairman, Mary L. Staudenmaier. Both scholarships recognize the achievements of exceptional area students.

 

High school graduates who received bank scholarships for 2008 are:

Matthew Berg, Menominee High School; Ashley Biehl, St. Thomas Aquinas Academy; Travis Carlson, St. Thomas Aquinas Academy; Trista Bayerl, Stephenson High School; Sabrina Vieth, Marinette High School; Katlin Schuelke, Peshtigo High School; Jacob Wickman, Oconto High School; Amanda Gretzinger, Wausaukee High School; Amber Suchon, Crivitz High School.

 

The scholarship recipients from Northeast Wisconsin Technical College are: Alan Luccarini, Crivitz and Sara Thoney, Marinette. Recipients from University of Wisconsin-Marinette are: Brandee Peterson, Wallace; Mathew Demeuse, Marinette; Ethan Linstad, Marinette.

 

The scholarship program is one of several bank activities that support youth and education. In recognition of their outstanding work in financial education, the bank earned awards for the past eight years from the Wisconsin Bankers Association. 

 

The Stephenson National Bank & Trust’s recent educational activities include: hosting a Reverse Mortgage Seminar in May, sponsoring “Newspapers in Education”; hosting bank tours for students; making classroom presentations such as “Teach Children to Save Day”; making presentations for “Get Smart About Credit Day”, which teaches young adults about using credit wisely; participating in the Kiwanis “Kid Kare ID”; and sponsoring and participating in “Mini Business World”.
