Yearly community service pledges have become a habit for the staff at The Stephenson National Bank & Trust (SNB&T). Since the program began, they have cumulatively pledged over 40,000 hours of community service.

“The idea began with a challenge from bank Chairman Mary Staudenmaier,” said John Reinke, SNB&T president. “To coincide with the new millennium, she asked employees to collectively pledge 2000 hours of community service.”

“Our employees met the challenge and surpassed that goal,” added Staudenmaier. “I’m happy to report that they have managed to increase their pledges every year since and this year is no exception.”

This year, the annual pledge is over 6,300 hours of community service. That is equivalent to three, full time workers for one year. These hours are distributed among 113 groups and organizations, in Marinette, Menominee, Stephenson, Peshtigo, Coleman, Crivitz, Lena and Oconto.

“The commitment from the staff at SNB&T continues to grow each year,” noted Reinke. “This is impressive dedication that supports and strengthens the communities where we live and work.”

The bank’s long-standing emphasis and dedication to community service began with the Staudenmaier family through their tradition of volunteerism. According to Reinke, SNB&T continued their legacy of philanthropy by encouraging employees to take an active role by serving on boards of directors, volunteering in school and church activities and a variety of non-profit organizations.
