SNB&T, a Decade of Financial
Education Honors |

|
MADISON — For the tenth year in a row, the staff of The Stephenson
National Bank & Trust (SNB&T) earned the Financial Education Recognition
Award for their outstanding financial education efforts. |
 |
|
|
The Wisconsin Bankers Association (WBA) Personal Economics Program (PEP)
honored 57 banks from around the state with State PEP Bank Awards at the
WBA Consumer Education Conference for their commitment to growing
financial literacy in their communities. |
|
|
|
SNB&T received this award due to its commitment to
growing financial literacy in the community. Twenty
six bankers from SNB&T reached more than 1,144
individuals in Marinette, Menominee, and Oconto
through presentations about the basics of money
management, saving, budgeting and more. |
|
|
|
Recent activities include: making presentations to
high schoolers for Get Smart About Credit Day,
visiting elementary and middle schoolers for Teach
Children to Save Day, hosting seminars, making
various classroom presentations to students of all
ages, hosting bank tours, sponsoring Newspaper in
Education, and funding local scholarships. |

|
“Educating children, teens and adults about personal
finance not only benefits individuals, but our
communities as a whole,” said Kurt Bauer, WBA
president and CEO. “We commend these bankers for
carrying out a long-standing industry commitment to
improving financial literacy.” |
|
|
|
In the past year, 804 bankers
involved in WBA’s nationally recognized Personal
Economics Program reached more than 64,150
individuals. |
|
|
|
Throughout the month of April, bankers gave 1,387
Teach Children to Save Day presentations reaching
28,243 students at schools, community centers and
workshops. On April 27, 2010, hundreds of bankers
will again take part in National Teach Children to
Save Day to encourage children to develop healthy
money habits. |
