Money management skills are something millions of people wish they had learned early in life. In an effort to raise awareness about financial responsibilities in our youth, The Stephenson National Bank & Trust (SNB&T) will celebrate the seventh annual National Get Smart About Credit Day on Thursday, October 15. |

On this day, employees from SNB&T will join thousands of bankers across the country by sharing responsible credit practices. |

“This economic crisis has taught us that financial literacy plays a significant role in helping our economy thrive,” said Charlie Cappaert, Vice President. “Get Smart About Credit Day aims to educate young people before they encounter car loans and credit cards – not the other way around.” |
“Poor money management is a major cause for bankruptcy,” continued Cappaert. “With a growing population of younger people using credit cards without financial education, now is a crucial time for bankers to get more involved in credit education.” |

Get Smart About Credit Day began in 2003 and is sponsored by the American Bankers Association Education Foundation, a non-profit organization committed to developing and providing education programs that lead to financial literacy. |
