The Stephenson National Bank & Trust (SNB&T) was nationally recognized for its contributions to the community at the American Bankers Association (ABA) National Conference for Community Bankers in Phoenix, Ariz. on Feb. 17. |
SNB&T was awarded a Certificate of Recognition for its Community Service Pledge. The award was given to the entire SNB&T team for the positive impact that their efforts have had on the community. |
“SNB&T is honored to receive recognition for our commitment, passion and leadership in Marinette, Menominee and Oconto Counties throughout the year,” said John Reinke, bank president. “SNB&T and its employees have distinguished themselves for their longstanding commitment of giving back to this community.” |
The Community Service Pledge began in 2000; at that time, the challenge was for employees to pledge 2000 hours of community service. The SNB&T employees met that challenge and did not look back, with cumulative hours totaling over 46,000. |
The more than 6,000 hours pledged for 2009 equate to nearly three, full time workers for one year. These hours are distributed among 84 groups and organizations, in Marinette, Menominee, Stephenson, Peshtigo, Coleman, Crivitz, Lena and Oconto. |

The bank’s emphasis and dedication to community service began with the Staudenmaier family through their tradition of volunteerism. According to Reinke, SNB&T continued their legacy of philanthropy by encouraging employees to take an active role by serving on boards of directors, volunteering in school and church activities and a variety of non-profit organizations. |

Through the ABA Community Bank Award Program, ABA honors institutions that have taken an innovative, creative and effective approach to making a difference in their community. |
