SNBT is very security-minded and want to do all we can to ensure security on all of our systems. We appreciate that you are also interested in learning more about our eBanking security measures.
Multiple channels of authentication are being used to protect your information. At every log in attempt we verify all of the following:
Your Access ID and Password are valid.
The access process begins when you type in your correct Access ID and Password.
Your computer or mobile device must be recognized.
Then, the device you are using is checked – whether it’s your computer, mobile phone, or tablet. If it’s not recognized, you will be asked to complete the security questions to confirm your identity.
Your geographic location must be verified.
Finally, your geographic indicators are verified. If you are trying to log in from a new location, you may be asked additional questions.
More Details about Security
All traffic between our online banking website and your device is encrypted with Transport Layer Security. This is indicated on the browser by the use of “https” in the web address.
We utilize a certificate to secure the connection that is signed and verified by a certificate authority. This will turn the web address bar green and provide the name of our online banking partner Fiserv Inc. listed next to a picture of a lock in the address bar. This gives you the ability to look and make sure you are on our site and not a fraudulent site. Example below...
Multilayered security is also used to identify the device that is connecting to our online banking site. This extra layer of security requires that security questions be answered if the device is not registered with our system. The registration of a device is checked every time it accesses the online banking system. If there have been any changes to a registered system, the security questions must be answered again before access is granted.
USERNAME & PASSWORD
You must provide a unique username and password to access the online banking system. We’ve placed security restrictions for the length and complexity of the passwords, which require longer passwords and the use of symbols and numbers. We also set expirations on password age, so they will need to be changed on a regular basis to continue using the systems. We also lock out the account if the password is entered wrong multiple times and it stays locked until a bank employee unlocks it for you.
We have a dedicated section on our website to inform you about fraud and scams. This section also contains educational material that can be used to help protect yourself while online. Learn how to watch for scams, the danger of clicking on pop-ups and how to identify suspicious emails. Visit our Consumer Alerts page to read more educational information.
If you would like a hands on demo of any of our eBanking services, please feel free to stop in one of branches and work with a Personal Banker. In our Marinette office, we have an eLab with computers, tablets, and smartphones that we use to demonstrate all of the features and security of eBanking.
